eCommerce draws on technologies such as mobile commerce, electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, electronic data interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems.

One of the largest segments of e-commerce is the online retail sector, which is dominated by the sale of consumer electronics, apparel and accessories. According to the U.S. Commerce Department, U.S. online retail sales during 2011 totaled roughly $194 billion.

There are six basic types of e-commerce — Business-to-Business (B2B), Business-to-Consumer (B2C), Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C), Consumer-to-Business (C2B), Business-to-Administration (B2A) and Consumer-to-Administration (C2A) and all of the are familiar for us.
